Wednesday December 24th 2008 The thirteenth day and still no trace of Joanne.The editor of the AD newspaper has decided not to put the article (the one we talked about in our update yesterday) in the newspaper because there is no evidence of a crime (yet).The police are still working very hard, you will understand that in the interest of the investigations we can’t talk about what they are doing.It’s getting harder and harder for us, we are very tired and are going to spend the coming two days with our family only. You will be able to read the next update on Saturday, unless we have exceptional news of course. We know that many candles will be lit for Joanne and this thought warms us deeply. With love, Thomas and Tanja, Arent and Helma    Maandag 22 december 2008 De elfde dag is voorbij en we gaan de twaalfde nacht in…. en helaas zijn er nog steeds geen nieuwe ontwikkelingen te melden.Vandaag hebben we weer uitgebreid met de politie gesproken en we zoeken allemaal nog naar aanknopingspunten waarmee we weer aan de slag kunnen. Want we laten de moed niet zakken! Inmiddels hangen er ook 100 posters met het opsporingsbericht in Nijmegen, dus daar wordt nu ook naar Joanne uitgekeken. De politie gaat het opsporingsbericht ook in Duitsland verspreiden en de Duitse media benaderen.Morgen (23 december) komt er een stukje in het Algemeen Dagblad, ook met als doel dat het gebied uitgebreid wordt en dat er méér ogen op zoek gaan naar Joanne.En dan kan het toch haast niet anders dan dat Joanne gauw weer bij ons zal zijn….? Thomas en Tanja, Arent en Helma   Monday, 22 december 2008 The eleventh day has passed and we are into the twelfth night…. and still no news of Joanne.Today we talked extensively with the police and we are still looking for leads which will enable us to go on searching for Joanne. We won’t give up!A friend of ours has stuck 100 flyers in Nijmegen, the police have sent a missing person notice to Germany and to the German media.Tomorrow (23 December) a national newspaper will print an article about Joanne so that even more people will keep their eyes peeled.Hopefully this will help giving us a very special Christmas with Joanne in our midst.  Thank you all for your wonderful support  Thomas and Tanja, Arent and Helma     Zaterdag 20 december 2008 Zoals jullie weten wordt Joanne sinds donderdag 11 december vermist. Al negen dagen van verscheurende onzekerheid. We merken dat heel veel mensen intens meeleven en behoefte hebben aan informatie. Helma krijgt bv momenteel erg veel “vriendenverzoeken” via Hyves. Helaas kan zij daar niet op ingaan want we willen haar Hyves-vriendengroep echt graag beperkt houden tot goede vrienden van ons of van Joanne. We hopen dat jullie dat begrijpen. We hebben geprobeerd via e-mail of via Hyves informatie te verstrekken, maar dat is allemaal vrij omslachtig en tijdrovend. Daarom hebben we ervoor gekozen om jullie via de website van de Stichting Mukwano op de hoogte te houden. We zijn Emma, Rik en Paulien erkentelijk dat zij ons hiervoor de ruimte bieden en we willen Martijn bedanken dat hij deze website gemaakt heeft en wil bijhouden. De situatie is op dit moment helaas niet veel anders dan een week geleden: de politie speurt verder en gaat met alle tips aan de slag. Ook de digitale recherche is nog zaken aan het uitzoeken en we wachten met spanning op de resultaten hiervan. De helikoptervlucht heeft helaas ook geen duidelijkheid gebracht. Er zijn nog steeds heel veel vragen, heel veel onduidelijkheden en tegenstrijdigheden. In de hele Achterhoek en in een groot deel van Gelderland (en ook in Duitsland) hangen de posters met het opsporingsbericht. De reden waarom we de publiciteit zoeken is dat we iedereen willen mobiliseren om in zijn/haar eigen omgeving goed rond te kijken of Joanne daar misschien is. We vragen iedereen contact met politie op te nemen zodra zij iets opvallends signaleren. We zullen proberen jullie via deze site goed op de hoogte te houden. Thomas en Tanja, Arent en Helma   Saturday, 20 December 2008 As you all know Joanne has been missing since Thursday,  11 December . Nine days of uncertainty, nine days filled with questions and no answers. We notice that many people share our worries and would love to get some information. Many people want to become “friends” with Helma on Hyves and we are sure that you understand that this is not possible. So far we tried to keep you up-dated through Hyves and email but this takes lots of time so a friend of ours has helped us make a website linked to the Mukwano website to help us keep you up-dated. The situation at the moment is, unfortunately, no different than a week ago: the police are following every trace they get, to no avail. Even the helicopter search told us nothing. (nothing is not the right word because if it had found Joanne it would probably have been bad news). We still have many questions, many uncertainties and it’s tearing us apart. All over the Gelderland province ( and even in Germany) we have stuck flyers with Joanne’s picture and description. We hope that many people will look around, in every caravan, shed and what have you, for a trace of Joanne. If you find anything suspicious don’t hesitate to call the police. We would like to thank all of you for your kind words in your emails, cards and telephone calls. They really help us get through these horrible days. We will try to keep you up-dated on this website.
